Terms of Service

These Terms govern the use of the QWIZ (qwiz.hu) live quiz service. By registering, the presenter accepts these Terms as binding; the service cannot be used as a presenter without accepting them. Participation as a player requires neither registration nor any declaration of acceptance – players take part anonymously.

1. The provider

The service is operated and developed by Ceox Informatika Kft. (the "Provider"). Contact: hello@ceox.hu, website: www.ceox.hu.

2. The service

QWIZ is a live quiz game for the end of talks, trainings and events. The presenter records a multiple-choice question, for which the system provides a QR code and a projectable live panel (TV view). The audience joins instantly by scanning the QR code – without a name, registration or providing any data: the system draws a random, funny alias and a joining number for every player (for example "Playful Owl – Q7"), and the game is played under that alias throughout. The system measures response times to the millisecond, then announces the correct answer and the winner ranking; the presenter can set how many winners are announced per question. The service also includes round logging and export, per-presenter configuration, the virtual (link-based) game mode, and multilingual handling of questions with machine (AI) translation.

3. Fees and licence

The service may currently be used free of charge. The Provider reserves the right to introduce paid plans in the future; already running free accounts may only be affected with prior notice. The software's source code is downloadable; the terms of use are set out in the LICENSE file published alongside the source code. The "QWIZ" name, logo and visual identity are the Provider's intellectual property.

4. Presenter account

Creating an account requires a valid email address, verified by a confirmation email. The presenter is responsible for keeping their credentials confidential and for what happens in their account. The account can be deleted at any time in Settings with immediate effect; deletion permanently destroys all account data, including questions and game data.

5. Presenter obligations; prize games

The presenter warrants that the questions and uploaded content (for example the logo) they publish are lawful, do not infringe third-party rights, and that they hold the necessary usage rights. The projector (TV) link controls the game, so the presenter must treat it confidentially; the link can be replaced at any time on the dashboard.

The organiser of any prize game is the presenter: offering and handing over the gift, and complying with the legal – including tax – obligations of organising the game are solely their responsibility. As players play under anonymous aliases, at the end of the game the system offers the winning players a voluntary option to provide an email address – according to the presenter's per-question setting (switchable separately for live QR and virtual mode); the presenter may use the addresses solely for handing over the prize. If a winner provides no contact details, the presenter can hand over the gift on the spot, based on the projected alias and number. In respect of winners' email addresses the presenter qualifies as controller, and the Provider acts as processor as set out in the Privacy Notice.

6. Data processing

The details of personal data processing are set out in the separate Privacy Notice, which forms an integral part of these Terms. The rules of anonymous player participation are described in the same notice. Privacy Notice

7. Newsletter

The Provider sends newsletters related to QWIZ and its other products (for example AI-Learning) exclusively on the basis of the presenter's separate, voluntary consent; consent can be withdrawn at any time in Settings, and subscribing is not a condition of using the service.

8. Machine (AI) translation

The service offers machine translation for questions. Machine translation may by its nature be inaccurate; reviewing and correcting it before publication is the presenter's task, and the Provider accepts no liability for the content of translations.

9. Public demo

The Provider may make a demo game available on the website that can be tried without registration. The demo serves solely to explore the service; the Provider may technically limit the frequency of demo launches, and automatically deletes demo game data within 24 hours; expired demo links then redirect to the main page. In all other respects these Terms govern the demo.

10. Prohibited conduct

Using the service contrary to its purpose is prohibited, in particular: publishing unlawful, misleading or offensive content, overloading or disrupting the system, automated mass access, attempting to bypass security measures (including bot protection and demo limits), unauthorised access to other users' data, and using the service to distribute unsolicited messages.

11. Availability and liability

The Provider supplies the service "as is"; it does its best to ensure continuous operation but gives no availability guarantee and may temporarily suspend the service for maintenance. The Provider is not liable for outages caused by the internet connection, user devices or third-party providers, nor for indirect damages or lost profit arising from missed or interrupted games. Liability in connection with the free service is excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law; liability for damage caused intentionally, or harming human life, physical integrity or health, cannot be limited.

12. Termination

The presenter may terminate the contract at any time, without giving reasons, by deleting their account. In the event of a serious or repeated breach of these Terms the Provider is entitled – after prior warning, or with immediate effect in the case of a serious breach – to suspend or delete the account.

13. Amendment of the Terms

The Provider may amend these Terms. Registered presenters are notified of material amendments by email, and the system asks for acceptance of the new version at the next login; the amendment becomes binding on the presenter upon acceptance. The current version is always available on this page.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Hungarian law, and the Hungarian courts having jurisdiction and competence decide any disputes. These Terms do not affect the rights of users qualifying as consumers under mandatory statutory provisions; in the event of a consumer dispute, proceedings before the conciliation board of the consumer's place of residence may also be initiated.
